We recently provided contemporary aluminium bifold doors to a Lindley family house as part of a renovation project, creating a lighter and more open-plan living space. Located in Huddersfield, Lindley is a very desirable neighbourhood due to its close access to the M62 and other major routes. The Cliffe family wanted to make the most of their four-bedroom detached home without the disruption that comes with moving, so they decided to extend the property both downstairs and upstairs. The ground-floor addition created an attractive open-plan kitchen, dining room, and living area. As part of the transformation, the family chose to install Clearview bifold doors to connect the new living space with the garden and utilise natural light. Based in a convenient location and offering an excellent reputation and portfolio, Clearview was an obvious choice for this bifold doors project.

What Did We Supply and Install?

Clearview supplied and installed two sets of aluminium bifold doors, which offer excellent durability and serve as a practical long-term investment. The doors were installed on the south-facing side of the property, making the most of the natural light coming through. The team helped the client to understand how low the door threshold could be to ensure seamless inside-to-outside integration. Clearview also produced sketches to help the Cliffe family visualise the installation and ensure the layout worked with their requirements.

Challenges and Solutions

The family hoped to find doors that matched their original bifolds, which had been fitted 14 years ago. As that design was no longer available, Clearview offered useful advice and suggested alternative styles that would blend well with the property. Two matching sets were therefore installed to create a consistent look.

Additionally, a three-panel configuration was first proposed, but this extended too far onto the patio and reduced space for garden furniture. The Clearview team worked with the family to identify the best solution for their space. A five-panel configuration was chosen for each set, with the doors opening in opposite directions to prevent the outdoor space from being obstructed.

When the scaffolding was removed, the building work was suddenly exposed, so securing the property became a priority. Clearview responded quickly, finishing the installation within four weeks of the order and staying in close contact with the client throughout.

The Results

The new aluminium bifold doors create a modern focal point for the home, making the space feel more open. The low-threshold design creates a smooth connection between the home and garden, providing more room for both everyday living and entertaining. Clearview’s useful input and helpful team helped the family achieve a final result that suits the property’s style and floods the space with natural light.

“Clearview were friendly and made the process less daunting. Their team was excellent in answering my questions and helping us choose doors that we’re confident in. The experts were both professional and approachable. It was reassuring to use a local company that genuinely cared about the project, rather than feeling like we were just another customer.”

Graeme Bowen, Sales Director at Clearview, adds, “The final result of this bifold doors project was stunning, and it was so rewarding to hear such positive feedback from the client. This was another example of how aluminium bifold doors can bring the outside in and create a space-saving, practical option for a home extension.”
